Loving Lately: Perfect Bars

What’s sets Perfect Bars apart from all of the zillions of other snack bar options? First and foremost—taste! I don’t know about you, but no matter how great of ingredients and how stellar of a macro count a bar is, if it doesn’t taste good—I’m not eating it! Perfect Bar honestly blows it out of the water when it comes to taste. They have tons of delicious flavors. My favorites are Dark Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter, Chocolate Hazelnut (a seasonal special flavor), and Dark Chocolate Almond …Legit the Dark Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter flavor tastes like cookie dough! And the Chocolate Hazelnut is like a healthy Nutella! I’m actually obsessed! I keep 5 cases in my fridge at all times. Some may call that excessive, but I know what I like, and I like what I like. And let’s talk about texture! I’m such a texture person, that a lot of protein things gross me out completely. Because Perfect Bars are made from real food, they have a real, palatable texture.

Secondly, ingredients. Perfect Bars are Non-GMO Project Verified, certified gluten-free and kosher, made from whole food protein (rather than soy or whey), filled with 20 organic superfoods (even kale!), no artificial preservatives, honey (which has tons of health benefits and is a superior form of sweetener in my opinion), and still low on the Glycemic Index.

Another thing I really appreciate about these bars is that they’re actually filling and substantial. They are calorically substantial, but they keep me full for hours. I often eat them in my car on the way to teach yoga and then go to ballet class right after—and they sustain and power me through without weighing me down!

Honestly once you get past the fact that you keep these bars in the refrigerator, they’re really no different in terms of convenience than any other bar. You should store them in the fridge, but it’s totally fine if they’re out for a bit or if you throw it in your bag for on-the-go later. In fact, I brought a case of Perfect Bars when I went to Israel on my Birthright trip, and let me tell you—they saved my vegetarian butt every morning for breakfast (sorry, hostel-made schwarma is not my thing first thing in the morning).

Additionally, this company has the sweetest backstory. It truly is a small family side hustle that just took off because they stayed strong in their integrity. The dad was super ahead of his time in terms of health trends, and he made it his life mission to educate people on the importance of eating real whole foods, and even opened the first juice bar in San Diego! He had a special supplement blend that he decided to mix with nuts and honey so the kids would eat it, and after taking a first bite proclaimed, “It’s Perfect!” The family started selling this magical snack mix to anyone who would buy it. When the dad passed away due to cancer, the family kept the family business going in honor of their late father. Nowadays, his memory lives on in the booming family business. I actually had the pleasure of meeting two of the 13 siblings of the Perfect Bar family when I was at Wanderlust Festival in Squaw Valley two years ago. I found it really neat that despite the fact that their once small family business is now super celebrated and successful, they were still out there making real human connection and wanting to spread their message themselves. Super inspiring! As a blogger, I really appreciate how the Perfect Bar family makes all of the campaigns and packages super fun! Currently, their running a special Birthday Cake flavor (yes you heard me, BIRTHDAY CAKE!!!!), in honor of their 14th year in business. And yes, it’s just as delicious as it sounds! And the multi-colored sprinkles are dyed from turmeric, spirulina, and beet juice!

There’s nothing I love more than supporting family owned businesses with a mission, and Perfect snacks is the perfect blend of supporting brands with integrity, quality ingredients, and exceptional taste!! It’s just perfect ;)
